Meredith Bourke

For twenty years, I have been fascinated with the texture and grain of wood. Starting with some very old plywood from my grandfather’s country garage, I began sculpting, with my mind, pieces of wood.  Then, using saws, sanders, and playing with a myriad of stains, I realized these pieces.

My art is created for playful minds. I create unique birch-ply puzzles of differing sizes that are painted in subtle or bold hues and which can be hung on a wall or placed on a table and manipulated as desired. 

My vision becomes yours: you are the director of it.  Apart or together, cock-eyed, 3-dimensional; on a wall or placed on a coffee-table, your art puzzle becomes your vision.
